Master Pizza Wows The Judges at the 2022 International Pizza Competition in Italy

Master Pizza Owner and CEO Michael P. LaMarca just got back from Italy where he recently competed at the World Pizza Championships with fellow teammates on the United States Pizza Team.  He took Top American and 28th out of over 600 in the World in the Pan Division!

Michael competed with our Detroit Pan dough and topped it with ingredients sourced while in Parma, Italy.  The pizza he made was topped with a fig preserve, fried pancetta, a combination of fresh mozzarella & scamorza cheeses, arugula, goat cheese, prosciutto and topped with balsamic pearls.  Unfortunately, we will not be selling this at any of our locations because I am only able to get these ingredients in Parma, Italy, but trust us when we say this pizza was great!  It was an amazing trip and opportunity to show off our style of pizzas in the homeland of pizza!  Michael has more pictures and stories posted on my personal Instagram @michaelplamarca page if you like to see more from the trip!

Also, prior to the trip to Italy our team of 17 at Master Pizza traveled to Las Vegas to the International Pizza Expo.  Our team along with the team from Pizza Today Magazine, are in charge of running the largest pizza competition in the United States, the International Pizza Challenge.  We are responsible for coordinating all the events and competitions while working with all 275 competitors from all over the world.  We consider this to be a huge honor and privilege to be responsible for the second-largest pizza competition in the world!
